It's Saturday-what's new?????
It's 4:55 a.m. and I'm up and ready to go to the hospital to test "my" babies! Actually this schedule works great for me because I'm almost always awake by 4:00 a.m. anyway. I wonder how many babies were born last night.........I'll know soon.
Karen C....I love the mental picture of you with two babies on your lap. I, too, sit like that with little "Z" and just stare at that perfect little face.....so much potential, and such a little miracle. Enjoy every minute you have with those little ones.
Margo...you gave me a great idea with the peppers/zuchini/eggs. I have all of that in my frige and that is what I'm having for dinner. My frige is usually too full and I end up throwing stuff away because I'm lazy and have a can of chili instead of chopping and cooking something better for me.
Kathi.....I was so tired after my surgery for about two weeks.....I took two naps a day! Listen to your body.......it will tell you what you need, and as Annette says, if it feels like something abnormal, call your doc, please.
My life lately seems like doctors/dentist/appointments and more appointments. I now have an appointment with general surgery to see about having those cysts on my leg removed. Two trips to Honolulu coming up one week apart....sheesh!! Then there's that CT scan that I "almost" had....and have to do again next Tues!! I might as well set up a cot at the Kaiser clinic!!
This early morning it's still pitch black outside and all I can see is the lights of Kihei across the bay. The ocean is the only sound so far, and I love this quiet time of day. When I walk out the door at 5:15...it will be balmy and no need for a jacket over my short pants and tank top.......nice, nice. After baby testing, I'll stop at the farmers' market for fruit, veggies and tropical flowers. It seems like it's going to be a good day....and I''m putting it into the Big Kahuna's hands so that I don't mess it up! LOL
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and that something unexpectedly wonderful happens that you can come in and share with us. Your Wow moment, is MY Wow moment!!
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen
Hi Margo and everyone:
Margo, I'm jealous ... I want to do the plasma thing. I asked my doc about the note in my file saying he wouldn't allow it and he didn't know about that. Oh well, guess it wasn't meant to be. I'm working today for OT ... it's my boss' shift. I asked for OT to make extra money, and he gave me three Saturday shifts, all days he was scheduled to work. He doesn't make extra money for those days, so he's happy to give them up. I'm happy to get the extra money ... I can make more doing this than on a part-time job, plus I know the routine, can do it sitting down.
Had to get up early this morning (for me, at least, 9 a.m.) to get blood drawn for my yearly labwork for my bariatric checkup next week because they couldn't do the one test (thiamine) at my doc's office yesterday. After I got to the hospital lab, I noticed I wasn't supposed to take my vitamin; oh well, I suppose it wouldn't have absorbed that quickly; I only took it right before I left. Hope that doesn't make too much of a difference. They never did that before; it usually was just fasting and nothing else. On Wednesday, I'm scheduled for an ultrasound of the gallbladder; at first, they scheduled it for 3 p.m. but I have to fast 8 hours (and that wouldn't have worked), so they rescheduled it for 10:15 a.m., which is just right ... I get home and usually have a snack and then go to bed about 2 a.m., so I've finished snacking long before then. It's kind of cloudy and has been raining off and on here this morning. It was very bright and sunny early this morning, of course ... couldn't let me sleep too late anyway. The Sox-Cubs game was a downer yesterday ... the Sox were ahead the whole game until late and then the bullpen blew it, just like last year and they lost 4-3 in the ninth ... bummer. Hope it's better today. I'll get to watch the first few innings and then I have to go to work, so I'll record the rest. If it's a good game (meaning the Sox won), I'll watch the rest when I get home tonight. I've been on Celebrex three days now and my knee doesn't feel any better. I'm getting ticked off at my ortho doc; I want relief now! I go back on Monday and see his PA and am going to ask about this tendon needling procedure my friend on the Knee Guru online message board told me about. That doctor is in Ann Arbor, and if there's no one here that does it, I'll drive there, even though gas is expensive. I just want some relief. I'm sick of being in pain all the time. Margo, happy birthday to your daughter. Hope your party is nice. Brenda, didn't know that about colon and pancreatic cancers being related ... I did know know that colon and ovarian cancers are paired. My father had colon cancer; his sister (my Aunt Bernice, who turned 90 in March) had ovarian cancer when she was 60 ... she's still alive, so that's amazing. The fact that both cancers run in my family makes me very wary. My brother Gary has had polyps in his colon the past three colonoscopies ... at least he is getting checked often. In my family, we are very aware of getting checked for colon cancer because my father died of that (well, really of kidney failure but the colon cancer was terminal too ... the kidney failure just got him first). Well, have a good day. I'll check back later if things get slow at work. My, I was rather wordy today!
